Former Shazam Chairman John Pearson becomes Chairman of Amazing Media, and Eric Dingman (previously global President of EMI Classics) becomes President, North America. Both men are investors in the company, joining shareholders who include AOL co-founder Steve Case, Sting, Loeb & Loeb Chairman John Frankenheimer, former EMI CEO Elio Leoni-Sceti and leading New York record producer Billy Mann.

amazing founder and CEO Paul Campbell said “People who really understand the music industry and have thought deeply about its problems have looked at what we do, asked difficult questions, and then said ‘I get it.  How can I help?’  I’m thrilled that John and Eric are now joining our Board too.  They have extraordinary track records, see what’s wrong with the old music media model, and agree that amazing’s unique approach transforms opportunities for new musicians”.

John Pearson said “I’ve been really excited by amazing since I invested a couple of years ago and am looking forward to adding value as amazing‘s first Chairman. I have a passionate belief in amazing‘s proposition and Paul’s vision for new music discovery.  amazing today is around the size of Shazam when I joined 8 years ago;  I believe it has the ability to scale rapidly, with a unique business model built exclusively around new and emerging talent. There is so much potential for new artists to find their voice and showcase their talent through amazing, in a world where the old record company talent function is broken. As CNET put it, ‘amazing is ‘poised to lead the next British music invasion’.”

London-based Canadian Eric Dingman, who will relocate for his new role, said “Plenty of people have tried to change the music industry, but in my view only amazing has the secret sauce that works for musicians, music lovers and investors. We have inverted the pyramid to create a model that offers opportunity and support for all artists. We focus on finding & nurturing new music, curating to help audiences discover, and then make money through multiple initiatives which we share with musicians in a fair and transparent model. And now we can do it more rapidly in North America, where I was born and raised. I’m very excited to be spearheading this mission and driving our exciting expansion plans there”.
